Jodie Isles, Massage Therapist
After a career in commerce accounting, I decided to follow my passion in
health and wellbeing and trained as a massage therapist in 2003, through the
Australian College of Natural Medicine. I had a successful following, and
home business for a number of years before taking a break to focus on expanding
my young family.
I have recently completed retraining, updating my skills and
knowledge with the Diploma of Remedial massage, and as NurtureLife®

I began Merakai Massage
because of my own personal
journey and life experiences, together with my long-time
interest in using massage therapy to help heal the body.
I am passionate about massage and the restorative benefits
it can provide no matter what your situation in life.
For me, massage offers a means to help reduce body aches and
pains, and rebalance our bodies through remedial, deep tissue or relaxation
techniques through to specialised areas of pregnancy related techniques.
It also offers a nurturing aspect - whereby one person helps another to
restore a level of personal calm and perspective.
Matt Steinacher, Naturopath
Matt's health career began in the
fitness industry back in the mid 90s where he worked as a fitness instructor
both in Australia and England. It was while working with clients in England
that Matt recognised a considerable variance in performance, achievement and
the recovery of individuals. With a desire to help these people achieve, Matt
developed a greater interest in nutrition and discovered the value of herbal
medicine. In 2000 Matt graduated in Naturopathy from the Australian College of
Natural Medicine followed by a Bachelor of Health Science (Complementary
Medicine) from Charles Sturt University
Marilyn Lemaire, Herbalist
For the last 25 years Health Foods and Herbal Medicine have been two of
Marilyn's favourite interests. Marilyn's interest in health foods began in
Canada and then after immigrating to Australia she completed a Bachelor of

the last 15 years and now spends the majority of her time working in the store

I believe the central questions to each of us finding optimal health are:
What can I do to minimise the chance and impact of disease?
How can I move towards prevention?
What aspects of my lifestyle & diet do I need to
balance, to not only have good health, but to thrive?
“Over the last 20 years in my work as a Pharmacist, I have
always maintained a strong interest in helping others improve their health.
Increasingly this has been through a more direct approach with my naturopathic
skills. I combine my skills as a Naturopath with my experience as a Pharmacist
to give each client the best chance of improving their health.”
The connection between food and the way it impacts and
effects the brain on an emotional, biological and physiological level has lead
to a special interest in the Gut-Brain connection and behaviour eating
patterns. With this interest, Leia is currently undertaking a Diploma of Neuro-energetic Kinesiology.
This allows a more in-depth look and the workings of the emotional and behaviour
side to eating behaviours and hidden stressors that can effect the body.
food and environmental intolerances, toxicity as well as parasitic, bacterial
and viral infections can have effects on our mental health, immune function,
detoxification pathways, skin health and cell to cell communication.
Using particular pathology tests to determine the root
cause of the presenting symptoms can support treatment plans and monitor
progress of the client. This allows the client to get a first hand, biochemical
level look at what is going on in their body.
With the support of these tests, as well as diet and lifestyle modifications
and the use of natural supplements, the body will be supported to forgo the
natural healing process into a state of homeostasis.
Megan Crockart, Nutritionist
Megan has always held an interest in food along with health, fitness and
exercise. Megan was drawn to natural therapies as they can be used for so many
conditions ensuring an enhanced transition to good health via a holistic
approach to treatment strategies. She believes that good diet, exercise and lifestyle
changes alone can often be enough to combat many illnesses and diseases with
prevention always being better than cure. Many conditions can be triggered due
to nutritional deficiencies and Megan likes to focus on bringing these
nutritional deficiencies into balance within the body using food as medicine,
nutritional supplements, exercise and lifestyle prescriptions.
